1998 Nissan 240SX Since its introduction in 1989, the 240SX has occupied the position of Nissan's affordable sporty coupe behind the 300XZ. With the departure of the legendary Z-car last year, Nissan now refers to the 240SX as its "sports car."Redesigned in 1995, the 240SX was freshened again last year with new front styling, a more aggressive "face" and the addition of an LE trim to the lineup. Unlike most of the competitors in its class, the 240SX employs rear-wheel rather than front-wheel-drive to give it more spirited handling. Although sales of sporty coupes in general are down significantly, the 240SX has suffered a particularly steep sales decline in recent years.
