The six-passenger LeSabre features the 205-horsepower (at 5200 rpm) 3800 Series II V-6 engine. LeSabre is newly equipped with the 4T65E four-speed automatic overdrive transmission, with an electronically controlled capacity clutch, which is smoother and more fuel efficient than the previous transmission. The engine was rated by Ward's Auto World magazine in 1997 as among the "10 Best Engines" for the third straight year. Projected fuel economy for 1998 is 19 miles per gallon city and 30 mpg highway. For 1998, 3800 Series II V-6 engines are equipped with various emissions control improvements.The powertrain features low maintenance as well as durability.
