1998 TOWN & COUNTRY
MAINTAINS STATUS
AS THE ONLY TRUE LUXURY MINIVAN
The Chrysler Town & Country remains the only true luxury minivan and by far, the best alternative to a luxury vehicle. In 1998, it is the most changed of the Chrysler Corporation minivans. To keep Town & Country at the head of its class, it receives a new Chrysler-signature grille, improved exterior lighting and many interior upgrades. Modifications to the optional 3.8-liter V-6 engine increase power and torque for faster acceleration and better hill climbing with no affect on fuel economy. Town & Country continues to rank among the elite in 1998 with an all-wheel drive option. New colors for '98 Town & Country minivans include a Champagne Pearl Metallic, Deep Cranberry and a Deep Slate.
IMPROVED HEADLIGHTS - Buy The Town & Country Here
Seating and good visibility rank high on the list of features potential customers look for in minivans. As a result, in 1998 automatic headlights are standard on Town & Country LXi. With this feature, the headlights turn on or off automatically based on outside ambient light levels. Also new for 1998 is a significantly improved high-performance quad headlight that provides greater range, higher on-the-road light intensity and a smoother light pattern. An automatic Night Vision Safety driver's side outside mirror is standard on the Town & Country LXi. It is used in tandem with the previously offered automatic inside mirror. The Night Vision Safety mirror helps ease nighttime driving strain by reducing glare from the headlights of following vehicles. It dims in proportion to the level of incoming light while providing rearward visibility appropriate to operating conditions.
BETTER SEATING - Buy The Town & Country Here
To further improve seating, optional heated leather front seats are added to the luxury features of the 1998 Town & Country LXi and a mechanical lumbar adjustment is standard on the driver's seats of all Town & Country minivans. Also, a new premium seat fabric is offered for 1998. In addition to the right side easy-entry Quad Command seat, an easy-entry Quad Command left seat is offered in 1998. Like the right, it tilts forward for access to the rear seat with the aid of a gas prop. To prevent spillage when the seat is tilted, the cup holder unit in the left seat assembly now attaches to the base seat, rather than the riser. For shopping convenience, seven hooks attach to the back of the three-passenger bench on all Town & Country models to support plastic grocery bags.
HOMELINK® - Buy The Town & Country Here
For additional convenience and security a Homelink® Universal Transmitter is available on Town & Country SX and LX models and standard on the LXi. The remote control mounts to the overhead console, replacing the garage door opener compartment. The transmitter memorizes the radio signals of up to three transmitters and sends those signals with the press of a button on the console. The HomeLink® transmitter offers more security than hand-held units because it cannot be removed from the vehicle.
ENGINE ENHANCEMENTS - Buy The Town & Country Here
Chrysler Corporation has introduced a new flexible-fuel engine technology for 1998. Chrysler Town & Country, Plymouth Voyager and Dodge Caravan minivans with 3.3-liter V-6 engines will be the first Chrysler production vehicles capable of running on either gasoline or a mix of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline, commonly known as E-85. These engines will be offered in the 46 states that are not adopting the California emissions control regulations. Chrysler's minivans sold in CA, MA, NY, and CT in 1998 will be equipped with a 3.3-liter engine that will meet the California Air Resource Board's Low Emission Vehicle standard for the first time.
SAFETY ALWAYS A TOP PRIORITY - Buy The Town & Country Here
For 1998, the auto manufacturer that first offered integrated child safety seats introduces third-generation child safety seat features for 1998 as optional equipment on all models. A refined five-point seat belt system for the Child Safety Seats is more comfortable for the child than the former systems and makes buckling easier and belt removal simpler.
