1998 Mitsubishi Diamante
Last year saw the introduction of the second generation of Mitsubishi's top-of-the-line sedan, after a year's absence from the market. Competing in the near-luxury segment, the Diamante features a V6 engine, a modern dashboard, new suspension and improvements in body structure that promise improved handling. While the Diamante was previously available as a station wagon, it is offered only as a sedan at this time. The Mitsubishi Diamante can claim the distinction of being the only new car sold in America that is built in Australia.
