The Audi Space Frame (ASF) cuts the weight of the vehicle to almost a third less than comparable steel bodies. Two pleasant side effects are greater fuel economy and dynamic performance. After all, the 1.4-l four-cylinder petrol engine only has to move 790 kilos. And that means fun driving on an inner-city highway or a country track. The Audi Space Frame also gives you greater safety with lateral roof frames, part of the ASF, for anti-roll protection, head airbags at the front and in the rear roof frame and side airbags in the front seats.
