Audi A4: the name stands for one of the most successful cars in the upper segment of the midsize class. After just three and a half years in production, more than a million have been manufactured and sold.

Thanks to its four-link front suspension, the A4 is one of the safest cars on the road for all its dynamic performance. Re-tuned, low-friction gas-pressure shock absorbers and selective local reinforcement of the body, fine optimisation of the elastokinematic properties of the suspension and separation of the spring and shock absorber mounts in the torsion-crank rear suspension ensure a more sensitive response, extremely good acoustic characteristics and a significant increase in comfort.

The optional Audi SIDEGUARD head-level airbag system is a significant advance in occupant safety. It covers the window area from the front rear roof pillar. In combination with the standard side airbags at the front, SIDEGUARD offers an extremely high degree of safety in the event of a side impact.

The unique quattro driveline, available in a large number of different versions, the driver's and front passenger's airbags fitted as standard in the A4, and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), which will be available as an optional extra on all A4s in the future, make up a comprehensive range of safety features.

In redesigning the interior, we followed the principle that every detail, however small, is important. The harmonious co-ordination of colours in this high-class interior makes it even more attractive. The reshaped centre console, switch panel with back-lit buttons, soft-touch action of the ashtray and aluminium surround for the gear lever are just a few of the many details that enhance the interior of the Audi A4 even further.
