There are great numbers of possibilities for getting around outdoors. We have a particularly fascinating way for you. If you love open cars and like to drive fast, the appeal of the BMW M3 convertible will be very hard to resist. Where open sky and the immense power reserves of the engine compliment each other, open driving becomes the most superb form of mobility. The performance characteristics of the M3 engine enable powerful cruising down country roads as well as swift headway on the freeway

Pure Power Engine

The engine of the M3 convertible was developed by the BMW M motor racing specialists. They built a powerful 236 kW 3.2 liter motor with pronounced sports car qualities. Its torque at 3800/min is a breathtaking 236 on the Newtonmeter: Permanent thrust in any situation, spontaneous acceleration from stop to top speed. A power output weight of almost 6 kg/kW provides for breathtaking results: From 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Right to the pinnacle of the best sports cars. It becomes quite clear: The M engine is much more than a high-performance motor. It is the embodiment of the idea of the pure sports car.

The Chassis

There are situations when slowing down a vehicle is more important than its accelerating. Situations where it is appropriate to keep a rein on the power. This is especially valid when it is slippery, when the tire's grip on the driving surface threatens to slacken. That is why the standard Automatic Stability Control+Traction, short ASC+T is part of the active safety system of the BMW M3 convertible. It increases driving stability, especially when starting off. A limited-slip differential is also standard equipment which ensures safe driving quickly around curves.

Driving Safety

In the tried and tested BMW safety concept F.I.R.S.T. . (Fully Integrated Road Safety Technology), all driving-relevant elements for comprehensive protection are balanced: Active and passive safety, the protection of the vehicle and of other road-users. Airbags for the driver and passenger contribute substantially to passive safety. The side airbags in the front carry out a very important function in the case of a side-impact collision: e.g. they protect the thorax region against serious injury.
