BUICK TO DONATE $54,969 TO THE NATIONAL HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND IN THE NAME
OF TOURING PRO DAVID BERGANIO

Buick's Century brand announces that
it will donate $54,969 to the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund, matching the
combined winnings of Buick touring professional David Berganio Jr. at the recent U.S. Open
in Pinehurst, N.C. and on the 1999 Nike Tour. The Century brand has committed to match up
to $100,000 of Berganio's earnings this year and donate the money to the National Hispanic
Scholarship Fund.
The largest of its kind, the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund benefits deserving
Hispanic college students in the United States and Puerto Rico. Buick donated $12,000 to
the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund based on Berganio's winnings at the Buick
Invitational PGA Tour event in LaJolla, Calif. (February 11-14).
"This is just one of the many reasons why I am so proud to be associated with
Buick," says Berganio, who has had an endorsement pact with Buick since 1997.
"Not only is Buick a great company that has supported me through some tough times,
but it has such a great tradition of charitable involvement."
