VEHICLES EARN THE GOOD HOUSEKEEPING AWARDS

Five GM nameplates have earned the Good Housekeeping Institute Automotive Satisfaction Award, based on a first-ever survey of female new car buyers and lessees.

The GM winners were Buick LeSabre; Pontiac Grand Am, Grand Prix, Montana; and Saturn coupe, sedan and station wagon models. GM received five of nine awards presented. Winners will be announced in the September issue of Good Housekeeping, available nationwide August 10.

Winning models met criteria listed in a survey of female new car purchasers and leasees who are the primary drivers of the vehicle.

Roy Roberts, group vice president of GM's North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing, says "We know that over 50 percent of all vehicle purchases are by women and that, even more significantly, women influence over 80 percent of all vehicle purchases. We really appreciate women telling us we are doing the job right."

As winners of the Good Housekeeping Institute Automotive Satisfaction Award, the five GM models are entitled to use the award symbol in all promotional marketing materials, including advertising in media and brochures.
