Power Rack-and-Pinion Steering

Power assisted rack-and-pinion steering contributes to precise, maneuverable steering control. Magnetic variable effort power steering automatically adjusts the steering's power assist so that Park Avenue is easy to maneuver at lower speeds - while parking, for example - and yet still provides excellent road feel at highway speeds (magnetic variable-effort power steering is standard on Ultra and available on Park Avenue).

For confident passing and quick acceleration, the standard 3800 Series II V6 delivers 205 horsepower and 230 ft-lbs of torque standard on Park Avenue. The EPA mileage figures are 19 mpg city, 28 mpg highway.

3800 Series II Supercharged V6

For swift on-demand acceleration, the 3800 Series II Supercharged V6 has 240 horsepower and 280 ft-lbs of torque. It's standard on Park Avenue Ultra and its EPA estimated figures are 18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway.*

SAFETY & SECURITY

Body Structure

Reinforcement rails are used to create a more efficient body structure. To help optimize the front-end structure and significantly lessen road-induced noise and vibration, closed sections are specified for the upper engine compartment rails and the top radiator support.

Steel Door Beams

To help prevent intrusions into the passenger compartment, in the event of a shallow-angle side impact, steel beams are built into every door.

Next Generation Air Bags

Next Generation air bags,* when used with safety belts, are designed to help protect front seat occupants in certain head-on collisions.

Full-Range Traction Control

Full-range traction control has sensors that detect when one wheel is spinning faster than the others. As soon as that is detected, this feature reduces engine torque and automatically modulates the brakes until traction is restored.

Safety Belts

The innovative safety belts travel with the seats so you remain comfortable in any position.

Power Four-Wheel Anti-Lock Disc Brakes

Park Avenue's four-wheel power anti-lock disc brakes help maintain steering control and help prevent skidding on most slippery surfaces, especially under hard braking conditions.

COMFORT & CONVENIENCE

Seats

The seats in Park Avenue were designed to distribute your weight evenly, so there are no uncomfortable pressure points, even on long journeys. In addition, innovative safety belts travel with the seats, with so you remain comfortable in any position.
