COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE OF THE 1999 CADILLAC ELDORADO

It's the seat of power—exquisitely tailored. It's your private space—elegantly laid out. It's everything you need at your fingertips—instruments, controls and gauges, all logically placed and accented by exotic touches like Zebrano wood trim. It's Eldorado. You may never buy another plane ticket again.

You would expect Eldorado Touring Coupe's power seats to be comfortable. You would expect them to be supportive and adjustable every which way from Sunday. You would expect their seating surfaces to be covered with fine leather, and heated, if you so choose. And on every count, you'd be right.

But, Eldorado had to go one better. Not only will your driver's seat give you true comfort, it will also give you a massage.

This truly sublime massaging option is built right into Eldorado's adjustable four-way power lumbar system. You just sit back, relax, press the switch and a unique roller inside the seat will gently massage your back muscles while you drive.

The therapeutic, soothing massage cycle will continue for 10 minutes. You can stop it at any time. Or, a more likely choice, you can reactivate it as often as you like. As one of the engineers proclaims, "Combined with heat, it's unbelievable!"

Eldorado's seats are not only phenomenally comfortable; they're also extremely thoughtful—with detailed memory settings for two drivers. So with the touch of a single button, your seat can be perfectly adjusted to fit your body.

But why stop there? Eldorado's available memory package also remembers how you look (memory mirrors), how hot or cold you like it and what radio stations you prefer.

All of it can be activated by using your personal programmable key fob. And to keep things really personal, Eldorado lets you select when these automatic adjustments occur—for instance, when you press "unlock" on your key fob, or when you insert your key in the ignition, or when you press the memory button on the door. It's up to you.

Eldorado's memory package means no more time wasted getting things back to where they belong, just because you had been nice enough to let someone else drive your Eldorado.

We may have mentioned it before: Eldorado is the premier American personal luxury coupe. But Eldorado is also crafted with every passenger's comfort in mind.

Eldorado's standard electronic dual zone climate controls, for example, let both the driver and front-seat passenger personally select the temperature settings they most enjoy.

And, as for those individuals in the backseat, they are personally accommodated, too—with vents in the back of Eldorado's full floor console.

What's a scenic cruise without the right mood music? Eldorado's standard AM/FM stereo audio system with six speakers, cassette and TheftLock is more than adequate.

But for truly incredible sound, you might want to opt for Eldorado's custom designed and acoustically tailored Bose® system featuring high-efficiency amplifiers, individually equalized speakers, custom audio processing circuitry, AM/FM receiver, single-slot CD and cassette. It's standard on Eldorado Touring Coupe and available on Eldorado. An optional, trunk-mounted, 12-disc CD changer is also available to keep you humming.

It's the right accompaniment for any drive.

Or keep playing that jazz, country, news/talk—whatever you like—without touching a button or turning a knob.

Eldorado's Radio Data System (RDS) technology, available with the upgraded Bose audio system, lets you keep listening to your favorite musical genre as you travel—with no effort whatsoever on your part. With RDS, your radio will automatically keep tuning in your kind of music all the way across the 48 contiguous states. You can also access the National Weather Service channel, get FM radio song titles and artists' names, scan by station type, even have emergency traffic or weather reports interrupt your regular programming.

Just as Eldorado is much more than a great car, this is much more then a great sound system.

Eldorado's standard steering-wheel-mounted controls let you change your radio station, turn up the heat or turn on the air—all without turning your eyes from the road or taking your hands off the wheel. It's a safety feature and a luxury, too.

A windshield that senses raindrops via infrared beams? Sounds a little space-age, doesn't it? And we suppose it is. But it's also standard equipment on Eldorado Touring Coupe. Cadillac's sophisticated Rainsense windshield wiper system automatically senses water droplets on the glass. When water droplets make contact with the windshield, they refract the infrared beams and activate Rainsense. The harder it rains, the more rain is sensed, and the harder the wipers work. Consequently, the less you work. Rainsense effectively eliminates bothersome manual adjustments. Rainsense also overrides Eldorado's running lamps and turns on its headlamps after just 20 seconds of rain. Clearly a convenient feature.

You're probably very well acquainted with the luxury of remote keyless entry (RKE)—a convenience feature with important safety implications. Operated via a hand-held battery-powered transmitter, RKE lets you press a button and unlock—or lock—your car, or open your trunk or fuel door. A quick honk of Eldorado's horn lets you know its doors have been locked. Hand-held and handy. With personal key fobs for two drivers.

All of us have had the experience. We're in a hurry. We leave our car. We also leave the headlamps or the reading lamp on. And then we return to a dead battery. Well, for the Eldorado driver, this experience will be nothing more than a quaint memory. Because, along with its many other thoughtful features, Eldorado features standard battery rundown protection. Which takes care of turning off any light you have left on. Long before the oversight can damage your battery. It also gives you ten minutes of accessory power after the ignition is off—so you can hear the end of a favorite song if you like, even after you've arrived in your garage.

Thanks to a number of space-age technological breakthroughs, even the most rugged individualist never has to be alone. Eldorado and the optional OnStar System give you safety, security and convenience everywhere you travel. The OnStar System is comprised of three key components:
