Chevrolet is celebrating the fourth anniversary of its partnership with baseball legend Cal Ripken, Jr. to promote Chevy Trucks. With more than 2,500 consecutive games played and in his 18th season with the Baltimore Orioles, Ripken, Jr. defines dependability. Ripken, Jr. started this season with a grand slam in game two of the '98 season.
Since teaming up with Chevrolet in August 1995, Ripken, Jr. has been featured in a series of public service announcements supporting Chevrolet's involvement with Special Olympics and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Ripken, Jr. has also participated in promotional events with Baltimore-area Chevrolet dealers. This season, Chevy Trucks and Cal Ripken, Jr. will present a second season of the Chevy Trucks/Ripken Youth Baseball Clinic. This year's clinics will be held in Baltimore, Md., on July 20; Oakland, Calif., on August 2; St. Petersburg, Fla., on August 9; and Detroit, Mich., on August 27. |
