Chevy Corvette is "America's Best", Autoweek Subscribers Say

What a Beauty!

The Chevrolet Corvette took the No. 1 spot on the list of "America's Best", AutoWeek magazine's annual recognition of the 10 best American vehicles.  The car was named best in its segment, as well as the overall winner. The vehicles are chosen by a sampling of the magazine's subscribers -- what AutoWeek describes as "the ultimate focus group."

At the ceremony, Corvette/Camaro Brand Manager Jim Campbell accepted the award on behalf of Chevrolet, its dealers and its engineering and production teams. "We are very pleased to have earned this award and particularly excited because it was the readers who voted for Corvette," Campbell said. "One of the things that readers of AutoWeek have in common with our Corvette owners is their passion for automobiles and, in particular, performance automobiles. It's clear that Corvette delivers on the three items that are most important to these readers: value, quality and performance."

The Corvette has been chosen No. 1 in eight of the 10 years that the magazine has conducted this survey.
