Occupant Protection Features
Every Prizm is equipped with dual air bags, front and rear head restraints (outboard); and safety-cage construction (including steel side door beams and front and rear crush zones).There are also child-security rear-door locks, and front safety belts with safety belt pretensioners and force-limiters. Upon air bag deployment during a frontal impact, the safety belt pretensioners tighten instantly to remove slack. The safety belt force-limiters help keep chest loads from becoming excessive, reducing the risk of injury. All three rear-seat occupants have lap/shoulder safety belt protection, and a rear child safety seat is optional in LSi Sedan. Side-Impact Air Bags
