You make it bigger, faster, stronger and smarter. You build the all-new Silverado from Chevrolet.
A truck has a job to do, and our full-size C/K Pickup did it about as well as could be done. But we knew we could build an even better truck. And we did.
Replacing a legend is never easy. So we built a new benchmark - The 1999 Silverado from Chevrolet. Like a rock.
It has the most powerful V8 of any pickup truck.**
The real test of a truck engine is when you're towing a trailer or transporting heavy
cargo. The new Vortec 4800, 5300 and 6000 V8 SFI engines have been designed with these
functions specifically in mind. The Vortec 4800 and 5300 engines have more power and a
longer, flatter torque curve than their predecessors, while all of these new engines
provide even better overall reliability. To prove it, we put them through more real-world
testing than any engines in our history. You may not always need a more powerful engine.
But the next time youre pulling your boat to the lake, you'll be glad you've got a
new Vortec V8 under the hood.
