O ver 3,000 spectators came to congratulate Daewoo Motor on their long-anticipated unveiling ceremony of the Nubira II, held at the Convention Center of the Seoul Hilton. Chairman Kim Woo-Choong and other Daewoo executives received the VIPs, which included ministers from the Korean government and the mayor of Seoul.
After a few introductory remarks, a new white Nubira II was unveiled to the waiting audience. A magnificent laser show highlighted the evening's unveiling ceremony of Daewoo Motor's latest compact model. A variety of events captured the crowd's attention including a talk show hosted by a popular Korean actor.
In his welcoming address, Mr. Kang Byung-Ho, president of Daewoo Motor Co., Ltd., stressed that the debut of the Nubira II in the Korean car market has "elevated the standard of Korean compact cars by combining high-power with economics and adding many deluxe features found only on more luxurious cars." Mr. Kang was also confident that the "Nubira II will not only bring vitality back to the Korean auto market, but it is sure to become popular overseas as well."
The original Nubira and the Nubira II share the same platform, but the Nubira II illuminates a totally new concept in car design. Its Powernomics engine, for example, provides optimum fuel consumption while, at the same time, delivering high engine output.
The Nubira II underwent a test to prove its Powernomics engine and also
went on a unique seven-day marketing tour of the major cities in Korea. During the tour,
special drive-in theaters were filled with hundreds of Nubira II models, allowing people
to get a closer, more extended feel for the vehicle's interior while watching a motion
picture.
