THE MOST ACCOMMODATING HEAVY DUTY FORD SUV
.jpg)
Just when you thought the limits had been realized, along comes
Excursion, the most accommodating Heavy Duty Ford SUV ever. Not that you had to cramp your
style getting into an Expedition (or Explorer for that matter). But room for up to nine
adults and cargo space for all their stuff is a rather large undertaking.
Excursion is no doubt up to the task with flexible seating and convenient Rear Tri-Panel
Doors. A system that not only won't block your view with a pillar, but also allows easy
loading and unloading. Just fold down the second row seat and take out the third-row bench
seat and your 35 sheets of drywall are in like Flynn.
Excursion brings more to the table than utility. After all, it comes from the same stock
as the original SUV, the Explorer. Built on a tough Super Duty F-Series platform, the
Heavy Duty Excursion is as capable off-road as it is touring. And you can have 4x4 along
with any of three workhorse engines: 5.4L Triton V8, 6.8L Triton V10 and 7.3L
Power Stroke® Diesel. Engines that are capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds.
What you might not have known is that Excursion is a responsible addition to the Ford SUV
lineup. Meaning it will be meeting strict low emissions vehicle ratings. Excursion also
has the latest innovation in safety for Ford, BlockerBeam. Here's how it works. A
hollow cross member hangs from the frame by two L-shaped brackets, forming a "second
bumper." In a frontal collision BlockerBeam is designed to make contact with
the frame rails of a car. Which helps prevent the car from sliding beneath the
higher-riding Excursion. Not a bad idea.
Look for Excursion to roll into dealer showrooms this October.
