Media Advisory: Ford, Kindercare team up in safety program

Ford and KinderCare Learning Centers will unveil a pilot program to teach young children the importance of buckling their seat belts and riding in the back seat. Unique activities such as an "egg crash" and "safety belt musical chairs" involve the kids in actively developing good safety habits, and "reminding" their parents to make sure they are buckled up and in the back before they travel.

Automobile accidents are the leading cause of death of young children. 40% of all children ride unrestrained, and four out of five child seats are used incorrectly. By reaching kids in a learning environment, Ford and KinderCare can try to make sure more kids buckle up and sit in back, and that their parents get the message.
