August Rolls Into September With Ford's Great Summer Offers

BRENTWOOD,- Along with a host of special offers on most models available through Ford's Great Summer Drive until September 30, Ford is introducing a unique insurance offer that can benefit owners of selected Ford and competitive models purchased in the past during the traditional August peaks.

Ford is offering to bridge the inevitable one-month insurance gap should previous August-purchasers decide to buy a new Ford on a V-plate in September.

The unique insurance offer is open to owners of a Ford Ka, Fiesta, Escort or Mondeo, or one of 37 competitive models purchased in any previous August. With the customer's agreement to purchase any new Ford in September, Ford will provide insurance cover for up to one month on their existing vehicle. The only conditions are that the new purchase has to be insured with an annual Ford Insure policy or that the new vehicle be one on offer with free insurance.

Richard Wright, Ford of Britain's Director of Sales commented, "Car owners who traditionally looked forward to purchasing their new vehicle in August can still enjoy the satisfaction of a new car in the first days of a registration plate change without the need to secure an extra months insurance cover. Once again, Ford is making car buying and car ownership easier and more enjoyable."

Ford's summer offers in the Great Summer Drive add to the innovative insurance scheme and include specification improvements and special finance packages on most models until September 30.

Ford Ka

Voted "What Car?" magazine's City Car of the Year, the Ford Ka range in July achieved its highest monthly new car market share (2.6 percent) since its launch and Ka1, Ford's most affordable vehicle, now comes with one year free insurance. Until September 30, Ka1, Ka Black, Ka Collection, Ka2 and Ka3 are also available with 0% finance over 12 months with 50% deposit.

Ka3 was awarded Best in Class in the "What Car?" Security Supertest 1999 and the Ka range was recently strengthened with the limited addition, Ka3-based, Ka Black. Black leather trim, body-coloured bumpers, chrome-effect kick-plates, a chrome tailpipe and eight-spoke alloy wheels distinguish the £9,995 on-the-road Ka Black. Only 1,000 of these very special cars became available from late July.

Ford Fiesta

Still the country's best-selling new car range, Fiesta Ghia, Fiesta LX, Fiesta Zetec and Fiesta Encore come with 0% finance over 12 months with a 50% deposit, whilst Fiesta Finesse is available with one year free insurance, all until September 30.

Ford Escort

Until the end of September, Escort Finesse and Escort Flight both come with 0% finance available over one year with a 50% deposit.

Ford Focus

The European Car of the Year 1999 is proof that when the critics applaud, the UK car buyers listen and buy. July saw Ford Focus achieve best-selling new car in the country for the third consecutive month. This sales success followed yet more accolades. "Auto Express" magazine awarded Ford Focus its Supreme Honour Award as their car of the year and the "What Car?" Security Supertest 1999 awarded Ford Focus Best in Class and second overall of over 80 cars tested.

Ford Mondeo

Following the introduction of the sporty Mondeo Zetec and the high performance Mondeo ST200 earlier this year, and a realignment across the Ford Mondeo range that sees ABS with traction control and air conditioning as standard on most of the range, all Mondeos are available until September 30 with 0% finance, over three years, with a 50% deposit.

Mondeo continues to be the UK's best-selling fleet car and, in July, was number one in its class for both retail and fleet markets. The Mondeo customer continues to be offered a wide range of specifications and prices, from an on-the-road price of just £14,400 for the entry level Mondeo 1.6 LX to the £23,000 (5-door) race-bred ST200 with its 205PS 2.5-litre 24V Duratec V6 engine.

Ford Puma / Ford Cougar

Ford's coupe family still offers performance and driving thrills unrivalled amongst the volume manufacturers. Ford Puma continues to be the most popular small coupe on the market with almost 20,000 sold since launch in 1997. Ford Cougar was Best in Class in the "What Car?" Security Supertest 1999 and offers two refined and powerful engines with a manual 2.0i 16V and both a manual and automatic 2.5i V6 24V.

Ford Galaxy

Ford Galaxy comes in two new metallic colours from September 1, Pacific Green and State Blue, and all retail customers of the country's best-selling MPV receive free Service Connect until September 30. This provides three years unlimited mileage extension of the New Vehicle Warranty and RAC membership.

Galaxy Zetec, the most popular model within the range, accounting for over 50% of Galaxy sales, also receives a free CD upgrade, normally only available as standard on the Galaxy Ghia.

Ford Explorer

The limited edition, Explorer Montana, provides exceptional value for the world's best-selling sports utility vehicle at just £22,980 on-the-road and now comes with free Service Connect. This provides a three year or 60,000 mile extension of the New Vehicle Warranty and RAC membership.

In addition to the great value and offers available across the range from Ford, special Summer Drive offers are also available at local dealerships.
