GM Connects the Internet to Reality with First-of-its-Kind

Used Vehicle Store

Following a long-standing tradition of innovation and leadership, GM, in conjunction with Houston-area GM dealers, unveils its test of GM DriverSite, the nation's first-ever factory-backed, Internet-based, GM-branded used vehicle store. GM will inspect and recondition hundreds of Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac and GMC vehicles that become available at the end of rental or lease agreements. This offers Houston consumers their choice from a vast range of GM used-vehicles.

GM will spend the next year testing GM DriverSite in Houston. During this time, GM will evaluate whether this non-traditional approach in used vehicle retailing will appeal to the region's web-savvy consumers and also develop into a financially viable business for GM and its dealers. Through GM DriverSite, GM and its dealers hope to learn first-hand how, and why, Internet users prefer to shop for used vehicles.
