Honda Awards Program: Some Heroes
Deserve the Hype

For the 23rd consecutive year, the Honda Awards Program honors the most outstanding female collegiate athletes in the nation. Honda is proud to recognize 14 women who have performed at the highest levels of athletics and demonstrated solid leadership skills, academic excellence and an eagerness to participate in community service.

Honda Award winners are chosen from 11 NCAA-sanctioned sports and determined by a national ballot of over 900 NCAA-member schools. Athlete of the Year winners are chosen from Division II and Division III schools. In addition, one athlete is presented with the Inspiration Award.

Each Honda Award recipient is nominated to receive the nation's highest individual collegiate athletic title, the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year, and the coveted Honda-Broderick Cup.

Honda is pleased to make a monetary donation to the winners' schools' general scholarship fund to support future leaders in women athletics.

The annual Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year banquet will be held in Reno, Nevada, on June 14, 1999.
