American Honda Reports Sales Records At The Halfway Mark

TORRANCE, Calif.,  - Total American Honda sales set new June and six month records according to sales figures released by American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Total June sales of 90,320, were up 1.6 percent from the previous record set last year.

Honda Division sales of 79,813 set a new record for the 27th consecutive month. The Odyssey posted its seventh consecutive month of triple-digit sales gains with sales up 276.6 percent to 5,625. Total vehicle sales for the Division are up 6.1 percent year-to-date to 463,810.

Acura Division posted June sales of 10,507, up 7.5 percent over the previous year. Sales of the TL were 4,869, up 109.1 percent, its 10th consecutive month of record sales. Acura Division year-to-date sales are up 11 percent to 56,282.

In light of the Fed's move to increase interest rates, consumers will be looking for wiser purchases," said Dick Colliver, American Honda executive vice president. "The exceptional value of Honda products may look even smarter than before.
