No matter how you slice it, the Sephia's one sweet ride. Not only does it
get you wherever you want to go, it wastes no time doing so. And if you think the Sephia
is more fun to drive than the other guys, wait until you see how much less it costs.
More Power
The 1.8 liter, 16-valve, multi-port, fuel injected power plant cranks out 125
horsepower. That's more than practically any base car in its class, leaving the Corolla,
Escort, Civic and Saturn lagging in the dust.
More beauty
A bargain price doesn't mean bargain basement styling. Let's just say that if this
baby entered a beauty pageant, it wouldn't just win the talent competition. We're not sure
how it would look in a swimsuit, but it's sleek aerodynamic body, profile headlights,
body-color mirrors, door handles and grille sure look good. Not to mention the multiple
coats of gleaming chip-resistant paint.
More Room
Some compacts want to "compact" you. Not Sephia. The 1999 models have extra room
for your head, legs, elbows and other body parts. Compare Sephia's interior volume with
Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Saturn SL or Hyundai Elantra. More even than the pricey
Nissan Altima. The comfy supporting seats are durable and stain resistant to spills. No
need for those dorky bubble-plastic seat covers here.
Drivers Paradise
Thanks to all the steps we've taken to control noise, the Sephia is so quiet you can
almost hear yourself think. The gauges and controls are right where you want them to be.
Then there are the comfort items like a dual cupholder, map pockets, tinted glass and
remote releases for the hood, trunk and fuel door.
Smoother Ride, Levelheaded Handling, Precise Steering
A strong, powerful sedan deserves a strong suspension like a four-wheel independent suspension with MacPherson struts. Front and rear stabilizer bars. Rack-and-pinion steering.
No matter how you slice it, the Sephia is one sweet ride.
