With its classic fines and elegant shape, the Lexus SC series sport coupe is art in motion. Considered a landmark in innovative design, the SC 300 and SC 400 provide the perfect combination of performance, prestige, luxury, elegance and superior quality.

The SC Coupe was designed in the car culture capitol of the world at Calty Design in Newport Beach, Calif. First introduced in 1991, the coupe's classic design became a trendsetter in the automotive industry.

Enhancements for 1999 include audio system improvements, new perforated leather inserts, larger brakes for the SC 300, daytime running fights, three new exterior colors and a new 3-spoke steering wheel design similar to that of the GS series sport sedans.

With the recently introduced Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i),  both SC engines provide outstanding power and acceleration.  VVT-i employs continuously variable intake valve timing control to provide greater engine performance, better fuel economy and reduced emissions over a broad rpm range. The SC 400's four-cam, 32-valve V8 engine with, VVT-i produces 290 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, with peak torque of 300 lbs.-ft. at 4,000 rpm.

This powerful V8 takes the SC 400 from 0-60 in 6.3 seconds and records a top track speed of 149 mph. EPA fuel economy is 18 city/25 highway.

The SC 300 features a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with VVT-i technology, which produces 225 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 220 lbs.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm. This powerplant applies wide valve angles, four valves per cylinder and extensive weight-and friction-reducing technology to produce unusually high output for its displacement. The SC 300 reaches 60 mph in 7.9 seconds and hits a top track speed of 146 mph.
