Lincoln Navigator First To Offer Climate-Controlled Seats

OSHKOSH, Wis., - The 2000 Lincoln Navigator takes sport utility comfort to a level no other SUV has achieved with new climate-controlled seats that heat, cool and provide ventilation through the seating surface.
This state-of-the-art option will be available for both the driver and front- passenger seats.
The climate control system provides heated comfort during the cold days of winter and cool pleasure in the heat of the summer. The heating system and the cooling fan are activated with the flip of a switch.
"This innovative approach to luxury is an obvious addition to the Lincoln Navigator," says Gurminder Bedi, vice president of Ford Motor Company's Truck Vehicle Center. "This unique climate control system reinforces Lincoln's leadership in SUV comfort and luxury."
Navigator's sophisticated automatic climate control system uses a compact heat pump combined with a small fan to circulate air through the seating surface. The climate-controlled seats are designed to complement Navigator's sophisticated automatic climate control system. The pump and fan are mounted inside the seat structure and are operated by a small switch.
"This easy-to-use feature raises the bar in driving comfort - a part of Lincoln's commitment to quality and luxury," says Bedi. "Being first to offer this climate- controlled seating system proves, once again, that Lincoln stands for luxury and innovation."
The climate control system will be available as an option on 2000-model Lincoln Navigator.
