The ML 430 stakes its claim to top-of-the-line
honors with its exclusive interior and exterior appointments. Bumpers, side skirts and
molding match the vehicle color. The off-roader is shod with newly-styled 17-inch alloy
wheels and 275/55 R 17 tires. Standard burled-walnut and leather trim plus heated seats
provide for a luxurious interior. Power front seats, automatically-dimming rear-view
mirror and a trip computer with displays for mileage, elapsed time and distance, range,
date and stopwatch are all part of the standard equipment package.
The novel traction system 4-ETS is teamed up with the Electronic Stability Program
ESP ® in the ML 430. It nips skids in the bud, keeping the ML 430
securely on track.
The ML 430's V8 engine betters current EU-2 emissions guidelines by some 50 percent. That
puts it in a good position to conform to the planned EU-3-/EU-4 limits as well as the US
requirements for ultra-low emission vehicles. Its performance is respectable. The ML 430
accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in only 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 200 kph.
