The 2000 Mercury Mystique offers buyers mid-size sedan utility combined with unparalleled fun-to-drive dynamics in its class.

Safety
Mystique comes standard with an emergency trunk release, designed to allow a child or adult trapped in the trunk to open it from the inside. The glow-in-the-dark trunk release handle will be factory installed, standard equipment on all Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.
Powertrain
The Mystique GS is powered by the advanced Zetec DOHC 16-valve I-4 engine, which produces 125 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 130 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Mystique LS is equipped with the advanced 24-valve Duratec V-6 engine, which develops 170 hp at 6,250 rpm and 165 foot-pounds of torque at 4,250 rpm. Both engines are available with either a five-speed manual or four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.

The 2000 Mercury Mystique is available in two new colors: Harvest Gold Clearcoat Metallic and Chestnut Clearcoat Metallic.
Mystique is manufactured in Kansas City, MO and Cuautitilan, Mexico.
