2000 ECLIPSE - SUMMARY OF CHANGES

From the dynamic new styling to the muscular new engines, the 2000 Eclipse is a completely redesigned sports coupe.
Following is
a list of the major changes compared to the second generation 1995-1999 model Eclipse:
* All new unit body and chassis structure
* All new passenger safety cage construction
* All new interior design and packaging
* New 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with balance shafts (RS, GS)
* New 3.0-liter V6 engine (GT)
* New front strut suspension
* New standard air conditioning
* New standard power windows (with 30-second delay) and door locks
* New standard alloy wheels
* New standard compact disc player
* New standard engine immobilizer anti-theft system
* New standard interior air filtration system
* New standard solar control windshield
* New standard dual accessoiy power outlets
* New auto-off headlamps with 3-minute time delay
* New optional SportronicTm auto/manual
transmission (GS, GT)
* New optional side air bags (GT)
* New optional traction control (GT with Sportronic and ABS) New optional 4- or 6-disc
in-dash CD player
Compared with the previous model, the 2000 Eclipse also has several notable
improvements:
* More standard power and torque
* Larger standard wheels and tires
* A longer wheelbase
* Improved interior ergonomics
* Improved outward vision
* More rear leg, shoulder and head room
* More cargo space with a lower lift-over height
* Greater side impact protection
* Greater frontal and offset frontal impact protection
