Cypress, Calif., The completely redesigned 1999 Galant mid-size sedan continues to lead Mitsubishi Motors sales growth in the U.S. market, with a 37.8 percent year-to-date increase over 1998:
"The new Galant mid-size sedan continues to meet our goals of increasing sales, bringing us new customers and helping reinforce our brand awareness," said Pierre Gagnon, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. (MMSA). "We expect to strongly reinforce this momentum with the launch of the completely redesigned 2000 Eclipse sports coupe and revised Montero Sport SUV in the next few weeks." "sell-down" of '99 Eclipse inventory in anticipation of MMSAs retail
partners focusing their efforts on selling the new 2000 model.
