GROOVY BABY, YEAH! GO NETWORK VISITORS CAN TURN THE ALL-NEW 2000 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE INTO
THE ULTIMATE SPY-CAR

CYPRESS, Calif. The smashing all-new 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse, which
swings into Mitsubishi Motors' dealerships in July, will experience a little
cross-mojonation as cats and kittens who visit Mr.ShowBiz.com GO Network's
entertainment partner can build their own Eclipse spy- cars worthy of Britain's
swinging Secret Agent, Austin Powers. Oh behave!
Continuing through June, advertisements on Mr.ShowBiz.com (www.mrshowbiz.go.com) will link
undercover special agents to the "Espionage Garage," where a 2000 Eclipse can be
loaded with the latest counter-espionage features. Sporting a groovy Flower- Power paint
job, special agents can equip their Eclipse spy-cars with everything from a
"rejector" seat to go-go radar and a shag carpet top. Grrrrr
"Mitsubishi Motors is extremely excited about the all-new 2000 Eclipse and we are
very pleased to feature it on Mr.ShowBiz.com, a member of the GO Network's family of
sites," said Peg Dilworth-Hunt, director, marketing for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of
America, Inc. (MMSA). "We believe Eclipse's incredibly sophisticated new design will
appeal not only to Austin Powers' many fans, but to anyone looking to drive a stylish,
fun-to-drive vehicle."
The all-new 2000 Eclipse, the perfect car for escaping the clutches of evil enemies or
simply swinging down the road, is a bold, aggressively styled sports coupe that builds on
its own heritage of affordable high performance while adding a new level of
sophistication. Designed at the Mitsubishi Motors R&D America, Inc. (MRDA) design
studio in Cypress, Calif., Eclipse's revolutionary design is cutting edge. But that's just
the beginning, baby!
Featuring styling cues taken directly from Mitsubishi Motors' exotic SST concept car, the
all-new Eclipse continues the trademark "geo-mechanical" design theme of
Mitsubishi Motors' design center in Southern California. The smashing
"geo-mechanical" look combines basic shapes and forms with taut surfaces to
appear as if they were machined from metal. Even the Eclipse's fuel filler has a groovy
riveted, metallic-like appearance.
Assembled at the Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing of America, Inc. (MMMA) plant in Normal,
Ill., the 2000 Eclipse is available with its first-ever V6, a 205-horsepower* engine that
gives Eclipse all the style and power a special agent needs. The 2000 Eclipse also offers
Mitsubishi Motors new Sportronic? transmission, which can be shifted as a clutchless
manual or a conventional automatic . . . smashing!
