Bravada sales nearly doubled during 1997 in response to major improvements bestowed upon Oldsmobile's SUV. The second-generation SmartTrak system has been warmly accepted and the interior and exterior design upgrades have drawn covetous eyes toward the smartest-looking sport utilities on the road.

Continuous Refinement

In this business, the best never rest so the 1999 model year brings another wave of change aimed toward a better Bravada.  A mini-module air bag design permits a clearer view of the instruments in any steering wheel position.  The turn signal stalk now provides a head lamp flash to pass feature.  There is a telltale warning lamp in the instrument cluster to alert the driver when the tailgate life glass is ajar.  A universal anti-theft alarm system is now standard equipment.

A new option package includes a power passenger seat, driver's-side memory seat, electrochromic outside rearview mirrors, 5000-pound trailer towing package, and Unreal white letter tires.  (All Bravados have an electrochromic inside rear view mirror.) The driver's seat can be commanded to accommodate two different driver positions by interior controls and/or the remote access key fob.

Bravado's options list has been expanded to further refine it's already generous option list. A new gold package adds sparkle to exterior nameplates and road wheels.  Sound system upgrades include a new Boos sound system, 6-disc CD changer, and steering wheel touch controls for HAVOC and radio functions.  Heated seats may be added to those Bravados equipped with the driver's memory seat option package (described above.)

On-road SUV
Most SUV owners wouldn't think of risking their highly prized means of transportation in an off-road excursion. Instead, they buy and own a Bravado because it provides remarkable utility, all-weather security, and a commanding view of the road ahead.  Bravados are great for commuting to work, enjoying weekend sporting events, or towing a boat to a vacation destination. It is, for all intents, a car with added capabilities.

Growing Popularity
Bravado's growing popularity indicates that more and more customers are discovering that the best attributes of a car and a truck can peacefully coexist under the same roof. It's not uncommon for Bravados to share garage space with an Aurora or an Intrigue. Clearly something rubs off during the idle hours.
