1999 Oldsmobile LSS

LUXURY AND PERFORMANCE

For the owner who appreciates both luxury and performance the LSS is a a full-size performance sedan that doesn't wear its sporting intentions on its sleeve.  The 205 horsepower V6 engine or the 240 horsepower supercharged series II V6 both offer impressive capabilities in stop-and-go driving on the expressway or anywhere in between.  GM Powertrain's chief engineer Don Miles calls the supercharged V6 engine "one potent powertrain package ... a healthy balance of performance and fueld economy.  It has the character and feel of a V8 engine, while maintaining the fuel efficiency of a V6."

SPACIOUS

The clean and pure exterior design is refreshingly devoid of plated adornments.   Sitting in the spacious, front bucket seats clad in leather a customer notices the speedometer, tachometer and other gauges are well positioned and easy to read.  The shifter is close at hand in the center console, which also houses a storage armrest, concealed dual cup holders, rear-seat HVAC duct and auxiliary power outlet.

A wide range of occupant safety items including next generation dual airbags only adds to the impressive list of standard LSS features.  One look at this car's window sticker and many customers are pleasantly surprised.
