Karen Francis, Oldsmobile general manager, says the Alero and Intrigue continue to lead the way for Olds. "This is especially encouraging when you consider that our all-new cars, designed and executed for the new customers Oldsmobile is targeting, are having such good success," she adds.

Oldsmobile created its Centennial product plan in 1992 with cars that were designed specifically to appeal to those customers who have an inclination toward import cars. That Centennial plan is now firmly in place with the introduction of the 1999 Alero last fall and it is having success in reaching those customers.
