The Oldsmobile Scramble, the world's largest golf tournament, can now be reached worldwide with the recent announcement of their Web site, www.scramblegolf.com. The action-packed site has all of the information amateurs and professionals desire including Local, Sectional, and National Championship qualifying sites and dates.
Visitors to the site will be able to browse the more than 2,300 tournament sites
nationwide, find Sectional Championship winners in their state, research National Finals
golf courses in Las Vegas and improve their knowledge of Scramble rules. Visitors will
also have the opportunity to view the lighter side of golf and to participate in contests
to win great prizes.
"The PGA of America's partnership with Oldsmobile has brought the enjoyment of golf
at a highly competitive level to both PGA Professionals and amateurs nationwide,"
said PGA of America Chief Executive Officer Jim L. Awtrey. "The PGA applauds the
Oldsmobile Scramble for its commitment to improve the event each year."
More than 1.5 million golfers have participated in an Oldsmobile Scramble local tournament
since its inception in 1984. More than 2,100 local tournaments are held each year in
48 states. Local winners advance to one of the 150 Sectional Championships with two
teams advancing from Sectional competition (Net and Gross Division) to the National
Finals.
