Pontiac Montana Positioned to Win Over Minivan Buyers

DETROIT - With a new name, more power and greater functionality, the 1999 Pontiac Montana is positioned to win over more minivan buyers than ever.

Sport-Utility Flavor
When the new generation Pontiac Trans Sport was introduced a couple of years ago with its aggressive Montana Package, minivan buyers brought it home in record numbers. The Montana package has since proven so popular, the entire vehicle line carries the name.

Power Sliding Doors
The availability of a passenger's side power sliding door on extended wheelbase models enhances the convenience of this popular model.  Functionality is further enhanced by the standard split bench seats and the optional second row captain's chairs that
forward for improved entry and exit for third row passengers.

185 Horsepower

Improved air induction and a low-restriction catalytic converter allowed engineers to boost power in Montana's 3.4-liter V6 engine to 185 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The 3400 V6 is mated to a four-speed, electronically controlled transmission with smooth shift points for enhanced driveability.

New Colors
