PONTIAC CENTRAL CHOIR TO PERFORM
AT CARNEGIE HALL
The Pontiac (Mich.) Central High School A Cappella Choir has been invited by Jonathan Griffith, Principal Conductor-In-Residence, to perform in Carnegie Hall on June 6, 1999. The 31-member student group is one of six outstanding choruses selected from throughout North America to perform based on their exceptional level of musicianship. The New England Symphonic Ensemble will accompany their Carnegie Hall Performance. The students will depart as a group from Detroit Metro Airport to New York City tomorrow at 8 a.m.
This group has worked diligently to perfect their musical talent and is truly worthy of this national recognition. They have also worked hard to raise the required funds to defray travel costs to New York. The GM-Pontiac Community Relations Committee has provided financial support to help underwrite the student choral group's travel expenses.
