Porsche: Number one as niche specialist
Stuttgart. The dealer satisfaction analysis 'Brandname monitor 1999' carried out on behalf of EurotaxSchwacke showed that dealers are more satisfied with Porsche than with any other firm in the niche provider group. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart scored a satisfaction rating of 2.49, above those of Jaguar (2.60) and Saab (3.10). This evaluation enabled Porsche not only to maintain its leading position from last year, but also to improve its result in the pre-used vehicle and after sales sections.
The Institute for Automobile Economics (IFA) at the University in Nürtingen surveyed over 1,200 automobile dealers in Germany from November 1998 to January 1999. According to the survey, dealer satisfaction with manufacturers on the whole has improved slightly (from 2.8 to 2.7) compared to the previous year. The IFA Institute explains the reasons for this as being closer participation with the manufacturers, continued improvement in the quality of the vehicles, a more intensified approach to technical training courses, and an increase in sales.
Apart from Porsche, five other manufacturers were also awarded prizes at the prize ceremony in Leipzig: Opel in the category for large-scale manufacturer, Mercedes Benz for premium manufacturer, Mitsubishi for large import brand, Skoda for small import brand and Proton in the 'four small tigers' group.
