25 Million Reasons Why the World Likes Suzuki

Suzuki Motor Corporation sold its first car in Japan in 1955. Six years later, they shipped their first car to export markets outside Japan. By the end of January 1999, more than 25 million Suzuki cars had been built in Japan, either for sale domestically or overseas.

It wasn't easy by any means. This enormous achievement came from the everyday dedication and hard work of Suzuki distributors and dealerships all over the world.

On behalf of Suzuki Motor Corporation, they would like to offer our sincere thanks to all of Suzuki's family members around the world for their continuing cooperation and support.

Amid the mounting concern for the natural environment today world wide, small cars have truly become the mainstream automobile of the modern age. Since the launch of the Suzulight in 1955, Suzuki has proven itself the clear expert in small-car manufacturing, delivering a steady stream of exciting concepts that capture the times and the needs of its customers and building cars for the lifestyles of today's people. Reaching the 25 million vehicle mark is the surest sign of the enthusiastic welcome the Suzuki concept has received worldwide.

In 1961, they started to build the global production network to offer products that would be right for our customers in each region. Today they have overseas automobile production bases in 17 countries. Suzuki overseas activities grew rapidly with its popular small-car line up. Wagon R+ enjoys consistently strong sales, along with Baleno, Grand Vitara and other vehicles. Constantly providing people everywhere with the cars they need - that's how Suzuki earns the world's support.

In the times to come, they will continue to offer exciting products built from the customers point if view, with the same sportiness, uniqueness and high quality that the world has come to expect.

Aggregate production of 25 million units is an important milestone, but it's not the only one. Suzuki will keep working to reach the 30 million vehicle mark, then 40 million, by creating cars that deliver uncompromising customer satisfaction.
