V-6 GRAND VITARA WINS MOTORWEEKS
1999 DRIVERS CHOICE AWARDS FOR BEST SMALL SPORT-UTILITY VEHICLE
1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara Leads All Competition
MotorWeek, Public Broadcasting Systems premier automotive magazine,
recently announced the Suzuki V6 Grand Vitara as the winner of its 1999 Drivers
Choice Awards for Best Small Sport-Utility Vehicle. Selected for high marks in criteria
such as superior performance, technology, practicality and value for the dollar, the Grand
Vitara bested competitors from Chevy, Honda, Toyota and Subaru.

"Not only is the Suzuki Grand Vitara more solid and capable than its
competitors, it also offers the only V6 engine and truck-style frame construction in its
class. Add in the true four-wheel-drive system, and the Grand Vitara clearly stands out
from the mini sport-ute pack," says John Davis, host of MotorWeek.
The Grand Vitara continues to set itself apart from others in its class by offering
muscular exterior styling, a powerful 155-bhp engine, an abundance of technological
advances and all the creature comforts at a price well below whats expected.
The refined ride, precise handling and maneuverability of the Grand Vitara are that of a
nimble, small SUV, but in a package that is more capable and powerful than its
competition.
"It is a great honor that the Grand Vitara has been recognized for the 1999
Drivers Choice Award," said Gary Anderson, vice president sales and marketing
for American Suzuki Motor Corporation. "The Grand Vitara represents the most
significant new product Suzuki has ever designed for the U.S. market, taking expectations
of the small SUV segment to the next level," he added.
