1999 TOYOTA GOLF SKILLS CHALLENGE NATIONAL TOUR

golfchallenge

No matter what your age or ability, if you're an amateur golfer, Toyota has a challenge for you. We invite you to take a swing at the Toyota Golf Skills Challenge. Like the highly successful EMC Golf Skills Challenge it was patterned after, Toyota's event lets you see how your skills match up to the pros.

Test your golf fundamentals in an exciting competition. The Challenge consists of eight holes, each of which features a different skill shot. Players get three shots per skill. The best score from those three shots counts toward your overall total. It only takes two-and-a-half hours to play. You can enter more than once (provided tee times are available) and play in groups of up to six players. (Call for larger groups and special large group discount rates.) You can even challenge other groups in the team division. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit Junior Golf and other local charitable organizations.

Golfers at the Toyota Golf Skills Challenge are grouped in the following divisions: Men (Regular: high handicap, Open: low handicap), Women, Senior Men (50 and up), Juniors (ages 14-17) and the Taylor Made Kids' Division (ages 8-13). Due to popular demand, two new divisions have been added in some markets to the 1999 tour: Senior Women's (50+) and Super Senior Men's (65+). Senior Women's division will be available in Chicago, Los Angeles-Orange County, Milwaukee, Portland and Phoenix. Super Senior Men's division will be available in Denver, Indianapolis, Los Angeles-Orange County, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland and Sacramento. There will also be Distance Handicapping for Seniors, Women and Juniors on Long Drive and Middle Iron skills.

Entering its eighth year, the EMC Golf Skills is a two-day, made-for-TV event that will be broadcast by NBC Sports and will feature top PGA Tour and Senior PGA Tour pros.
