Winning Vehicles: Toyota Teams Up with Schwinn

The Schwinn Toyota RAV4 Mountain Bike Race Team has been the number
one-ranked team in North America for the past two seasons. During this time our athletes
collected numerous World Cup and National Championship wins, and held the number one rank
among World Cup downhill teams, as well as for individual athletes.
The team will take a new direction this season, focusing exclusively
on the highest-visibility, televised, downhill and dual slalom events. A full season of
racing gets underway with the X Games which started in January and will be concluded with
the World Championships in September.
The Schwinn Toyota downhill and dual slalom squad will enter the
next millennium with a new look. Team veterans and multiple World Cup winners Dave
Cullinan and Elke Brutsaert will be joined by the two hottest prospects in gravity racing
since Robert Redford in Downhill Racer — Shaums March and John Kirkaldie.
Kirkaldie, a Kiwi, is the resident foreigner on what is otherwise an all-American roster.
Schwinn Toyota public relations and Trials ace Jeff Lenosky will
return for his fourth season with the team. Lenosky will continue to take his
action-packed Trials show to events and media appearances nationwide.
