Volvo Car Corporation Invests in New Technology from Centric Software; Joins Strategic Advisory Council

ROCKLEIGH, NJ - Volvo's Monitoring and Concept Center based in Camarillo, CA has purchased the PIVOTAL™ Collaborative Virtual Product Development (CVPD) software suite from Centric Software, Inc. of Los Gatos, CA.

Centric Software's PIVOTAL is the first available application to provide a truly collaborative environment that unites innovators throughout a product's lifecycle -- spanning conceptual design, marketing, analysis and simulation, virtual manufacturing, training and maintenance.

Volvo chose Centric Software's PIVOTAL solution in order to enhance collaboration between cross-functional concept and design teams across geographically dispersed facilities.

"Volvo believes that PIVOTAL will help us to shorten our lead times. Using the new methodology, we hope to gain efficiency and quality in the development of Volvo cars in a way that saves us time, and therefore saves us money," said Ulla-Britt Frajdin Hellqvist, Volvo Monitoring and Concept Center's General Manager, Camarillo, CA.

In addition to purchasing PIVOTAL, Volvo has also joined Centric Software's Strategic Advisory Council (SAC), earning the opportunity to strategically impact PIVOTAL's future direction.

"We feel confident that Volvo will benefit from many of PIVOTAL's capabilities, such as greater innovation with less risk, faster time-to-market, and superior knowledge management, and we expect Volvo's impact as an SAC member to prove invaluable," said Chris Groves, President & CEO, Centric Software
