Volvo S80 Earns Total Quality AwardThe Volvo S80 adds another award to its trophy case as Strategic Vision announces the winners of its 1999 Total Quality Award.
The S80 achieved the highest absolute score of any car or truck in the Total Quality Index, which is a measurement of how buyers rate the whole experience of buying, owning and driving a new vehicle. This score earned the S80 first place in the Luxury Car segment.
Strategic Vision's report states "The style, comfort, innovation and room/capacity of the new S80 make it a winner. Its owners feel in sync with a car that gives them an enhanced sense of esteem and pride, is fun to drive, a smart choice and a leader."
"The S80 was designed to help move Volvo forward as a world class brand," remarks Hans-Olov Olsson, President and CEO of Volvo Cars of North America. "Considering the recognition the car has received, we can feel confident we are achieving that goal."
Since its introduction in the fall of 1998, the S80 has received a variety of awards including the European Design Award, the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada's Best New Prestige Car Award, Inside Automotives International's Automotive Interior of the Year, and Australia's National Roads and Motorist Association's Luxury Car of the Year.
