Autoworld.com - GMAC today announced the appointment of Gay Tosch, group director of Human Resources for GM North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing (VSSM), to vice president of Human Resources. Tosch succeeds Jay A. Edwards, recently named GMAC vice president of Community Services. "Gay brings great strength from her overseas assignment and, most recently, from her experience in overseeing the reorganization of GM's sales, service and marketing organization," said John D. Finnegan, GMAC chairman and president. "She will be invaluable to us as we grow consumer awareness of GMAC as a provider of automotive and a full array of homeownership services." Tosch will report to Finnegan. The appointment is effective March 1. Tosch joined General Motors in 1979 as a college graduate-in-training. After holding various positions at GM's headquarters and at the Truck and Bus Group, she was named assistant personnel director in 1986 at Hydra-Matic Division. In 1988, she was assigned to General Motors Europe as manager of European Human Resource Management. In 1992, she became personnel director at the Tonawanda Engine Plant in New York, then was named personnel director at GMC where she led the human resources initiatives in support of the Pontiac-GMC merger. She was named personnel director of Pontiac-GMC in 1996 and was promoted to her VSSM position in 1998. Tosch earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Kalamazoo College in 1979, and an MBA in 1982 and a law degree in 1986, both from the University of Detroit. Additionally, Jeffrey G. McLeod has been promoted to the new position of vice president of National Dealer Accounts. McLeod, who previously was director of National Accounts, will have responsibility for GMAC's major dealer accounts in the U.S. and Canada. McLeod joined General Motors in 1979 in its Motors Holdings division as assistant branch manager in Los Angeles, following that with a series of branch manager positions in Portland, Ore.; Calgary; Kansas City; New York and Detroit. He also was Real Estate Investment manager in Detroit. In 1993, he came to GMAC as director of National Accounts. He earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from Indiana University in 1978. Keith Constantine, formerly area manager of the Atlanta Field Service Office, has been named vice president of Field Administration for GMAC North American Operations. In this new role, Constantine oversees the design, implementation and operation of GMAC's field administration centers. Constantine joined GMAC in 1975, holding various field and executive office positions before being named Westchester, N.Y., branch manager in 1991. In 1994, he became a general assistant at GMAC headquarters and then was named director of Commercial Lending for South Central Operations in 1996. He became area manager in Atlanta in 1997.
