Plymouth Breeze Has Wide Appeal in Entry-Level Sedan Market

Great looks, crisp performance and sensible features make the Plymouth Breeze one of the strongest entries in the entry-level sedan market for 1999.

"Our customers tell us that they love all the interior space in the car - in fact, overall, the Breeze offers more interior room, trunk space and convenience than any car in its class."

Also for 1999, Breeze gets power-operated windows, door locks and mirrors, as well as a driver's seat height adjuster and floor mats. This equipment had been optional for 1998, but will be standard for 1999 - once again showing that Plymouth is out to offer substantial value to the customer. Chrysler Corporation's exclusive Sentry Key^TM vehicle immobilizer system is available for improved security.

Leading the Breeze lineup for 1999 is the Expresso package that includes 14-inch Nitro wheel covers, accent color on the front and rear fascias, unique interior fabric, Expresso badging and an AM/FM cassette stereo. The Breeze Expresso joins the Neon Expresso and Voyager Expresso models, creating a synergy within the entire Plymouth showroom.

The Plymouth Breeze lineup comes with three power train combinations for 1999: a 132 horsepower, 2.0-liter, SOHC four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual transaxle, a 132 hp, 2.0-liter, SOHC four-cylinder engine with a four-speed automatic electronic transaxle and a 150 hp, 2.4-liter, 16-valve, DOHC four-cylinder engine with a fully adaptive four-speed automatic electronic transaxle. The 2.4-liter engine was added in the mid-1997 model year.

Winner of Car and Driver magazine's coveted "10 Best" award for two years in a row, the publication praised the Breeze for having "the most advanced implementation of Chrysler's cab-forward design ethic," resulting in "the largest interior volume in the segment."

Air conditioning, dual front air bags*, AM/FM stereo, tilt steering column and a lockable folding rear seatback continue as standard features on the Plymouth Breeze for 1999. Safety features include next-generation driver and front passenger air bags*, dynamic side impact protection, adjustable-height front shoulder belts and child protection rear door locks. Anti-lock brakes, an integrated rear child safety seat and a personal security package are available.

New exterior colors for 1999 include Inferno Red and Light Cypress Green.
