Troy, Mich. - Saturn and Saturn retailers are forming a new relationship with eBay, the world's leading person-to-person trading community, to give used vehicle buyers and sellers greater trust in the on-line trading process through retailer-based automotive inspections. This unique agreement pioneers the connection of a major retail automotive network and a vast on-line audience of buyers and sellers. The Saturn/eBay agreement coincides with the recent launch of the eBay-Autotrader.com co-branded website (www.ebaymotors.com or www.ebay-autotrader.com).

"We believe the alliance between Saturn, Saturn retailers and eBay will be another critical piece of our strategy to connect Saturn with new Internet audiences," said Jill Lajdziak, Saturn vice president of sales, service and marketing. "eBay enjoys a tremendous leadership position in the person-to-person trading arena and we're very excited to begin our relationship with the eBay community."

Saturn and eBay plan to pilot the inspection services program at Saturn retail facilities in Houston, Indianapolis and Nashville in mid-summer, with plans for a nationwide rollout later this year. The inspection services program is intended to permit most used vehicles listed on eBay to receive a comprehensive inspection that millions of potential buyers can view on-line.

The program is expected to allow vehicle sellers interested in purchasing the inspection service to locate a participating Saturn retailer through a search tool on the eBay-Autotrader.com co-branded website. Participating Saturn retailers will offer a 135-point vehicle inspection that will cover observation points for cosmetics and mechanical operations. Participating retailers will individually determine the price of the inspection, but the cost is expected to be under $ 100.00. eBay customers also may be able to purchase extended service plan options through their local Saturn retail facility.

In addition to the specific service offerings, eBay customers who purchase a vehicle on-line can look forward to receiving the benefits of Saturn's reputation for customer service. Lynn Kimmel, Retail Operator from Saturn of Indianapolis, said, "This relationship is a tremendous way for Saturn retailers to extend our unique customer experience to a broader Internet audience. We're ready to begin building relationships with eBay buyers and sellers."

eBay is equally enthusiastic about the benefits for Saturn, Saturn retailers and the eBay community. "We believe the new program we are developing will increase the appeal of buying and selling used vehicles on eBay," said Simon Rothman, vice president and general manager of eBay's automotive category. "Introducing Saturn as our premier inspection provider underscores our commitment to make eBay the site of choice for person-to-person automotive transactions."

Saturn has proven to be an industry leader in sales and customer satisfaction by consistently ranking near the top of the J.D. Power and Associates' Sales Satisfaction and Customer Satisfaction indexes.
