When the Toyota T100 debuted in 1993, it immediately raised the standard of refinement and quality in the full-size pickup truck segment. Continual refinement to the product has added larger engines and an extended cab to the lineup over the years in answer to customers' requests.

Riding the momentum of its best sales year ever, the T100 offers a new, larger alloy wheel and tire package, the availability of a sport seat package on Xtracab SR5 models and sees expanded availability of standard equipment and option packages across the lineup. Also new for 1997 are two new color combinations as Sierra Green Metallic replaces Evergreen Pearl and Two-tone Sierra Green metallic/Dark Green Metallic replaces Evergreen PearI/Silver Spruce Metallic.

T100 is no stranger to working hard. It boasts a 2,150 pound payload capacity (2WD Xtracab V6 5M), the ability to tow up to 5,200 pounds (2WD V6), stake pockets, tie-down hooks, two-tier loading capability in the bed and an easily removable tailgate. And with available luxury appointments such as six-way adjustable sport-bucket seats, power windows, mirrors and door locks, two-tone paint and a compact disc player, T100 is no stranger to the good life.

T100 is available in two- or four-wheel drive, regular- or extended- cab (Xtracab), three trim levels, manual or automatic transmissions and with four- or six-cylinder engines.

The most affordable T100 is the Standard grade regular cab 2WD. Power is provided by a 2.7-liter 16-valve twin-cam four cylinder engine producing 150 horsepower at 4,800 rpm and 177 Ib./ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm. Only a 2WD model is available in this trim level, and it is available with either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed electronically controlled automatic.

"T100 Standard grade" models offer a truckload of standard features. This T100 is well equipped with pre-wiring for radio installation with an antenna and wiring harness (new for '97), halogen headlights, gray grille, front bumper and front lower valence, anti-chip rocker panel paint coating, a bed able to hold a four by-eight foot sheet of plywood flat on the bed floor, locking fuel door, vinyl bench seat for three-across seating, dual cupholders and tinted glass.

Next up the line is the mid-grade "T100 Xtracab." All Xtracab models are powered by a 3.4-liter 24-valve twin-cam V6 engine capable of producing 190 horsepower at 4,800 rpm and 220 Ib./ft. of torque at 3,600 rpm. Both 2WD and 4WD models are available, and with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

T100 mid-grade models add fabric door trim (new for '97), a tachometer (new for '97), full wheel covers on 2WD models, styled steel wheels on 4WD models, dual outside folding mirrors, front and rear mudguards, a four foot by six foot bed, tilt-out rear quarter windows for the Xtracab, tilt forward 60/40 split full fabric bench seat with integral armrest, rear cloth jump seats, full carpeting, a day/night mirror and a digital clock.

Top-line "T100 Xtracab SR5" models are powered by the same 3.4 liter engine and transmission choices as the mid-grade model. They are very well equipped, and add chrome wheel arch moldings (new for '97), Chrome Package (chrome front bumper, grille and door handles), sliding rear window, privacy glass, tilt wheel, full instrumentation including speedometer, tachometer, volt meter, oil pressure, water temperature and fuel level, variable intermittent windshield wipers, AM/FM electronically tuned radio (ETR) with four speakers, map lights and a passenger-side lighted vanity mirror.

On all 2WD models, front suspension is independent with torsion bars, hydraulic shock absorbers and a 26.5 mm stabilizer bar. Rear suspension is leaf springs and staggered hydraulic shocks controlling a live axle. 4WD models offer Toyota's Hi-Trac independent front suspension which places the torsion bars above the frame rails for maximum off highway ground clearance. The rear suspension is identical to the 2WD models.

Steering on 2WDs is power-assisted rack and pinion, while 4WDs are fitted with a power-assisted recirculating ball system for maximum ground clearance and minimum off-road kickback.

2WD Standard models are fitted with 15x6 inch stamped steel wheels with P215l75R15 mud and snow tires. Optional on Standard grades, standard on all others, are P235/75R15 mud and snow tires. Available optionally are 15x6 inch aluminum alloy wheels. On 4WDs, 15x6 inch styled steel wheels with P235/75R15 mud and snow tires are standard, with new-for-`97 16x7 inch steel or aluminum alloy wheels optional. 16x7 inch wheels are fitted with P265l75R16 mud and snow tires.

Standard on all models is a driver-side airbag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), three-point seatbelts in all outboard seating positions, height adjustable front shoulder belt anchor points, side-door impact beams and a center high mount stop light. Rear seatbelts in Xtracab models are equipped with an ALR/ELR (automatic locking retractor/emergency locking retractor) function for the safe and easy installation of child safety seats. Four-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS) are available on all V6 models.

Limited Warranty

Additional 60 month limited warranties are available and cover powertrain for 60,000 miles and corrosion perforation with no mileage limitation.
