NEW ONSTAR PACKAGE AND ADDED CONVENIENCES HIGHLIGHT
THE 1998 CHEVY VENTURE

It started with years of market research from four continents and 42 customer clinics to find what customers truly wanted in a minivan. As a result, Chevy created Venture, GM's globally designed minivan, and the newest member of the Chevy van family. In its first year, Venture challenged the established nameplates by offering many unique and innovative features designed to help families get what they want - more flexibility and greater freedom. In its second year, Chevy Venture adds to those innovations with the optional OnStar system. OnStar combines the vehicle's cellular phone (provided in the OnStar Package) with Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite technology and a 24-hour OnStar Center. For example, the system automatically notifies the OnStar Center whenever the vehicle's air bags deploy so emergency services can be dispatched. If the vehicle is stolen, OnStar can track it and notify authorities of its location for quick recovery. OnStar advisors can access the center's database to find such things as a nearby ATM hotel or restaurant. The OnStar Center - using GPS - can also give directional support. And, for the ultimate in "remote control," OnStar can unlock the power door locks if the keys are left inside - all with just a phone call. Venture also provides the security of Remote Keyless Entry, which works with the Multi-Function Alarm, Locks and Lighting (M.A.L.L.) system to provide a wide range of door-lock and lighting options. A standard Passlock™ theft-deterrent system provides additional security by disabling the vehicle's ignition system if starting is attempted with a counterfeit key.

NEW FEATURES - Buy The Venture Here

1998 also brings several new convenience features to Venture. All 1998 Venture models (except Venture Cargo Minivan) offer optional rear-quarter power vent windows. A larger overhead console with a Driver Information Center is also available for LS models. And, the base-level models now offer the option of sporty cast-aluminum wheels and a menu of sound system upgrades.

STANDARD FEATURES - Buy The Venture Here

Venture continues to offer an array of standard features that set it apart from the minivan crowd. In fact, no other comparably priced minivan offers Daytime Running Lamps with Automatic Exterior Lamp Control, anti-lock brakes, air conditioning, Scotchgard™ Protector and front/rear floor mats as standard equipment. There's also the pollen filter which helps trap impurities from the air. And, an exclusive windshield-integrated antenna helps reduce wind noise and static interference.

ADVANTAGES - Buy The Venture Here

Another Chevy Venture advantage lies in the versatility offered by its doors ...

an area where Venture slams the competition. For 1998, Venture customers can get the convenience of dual sliding side doors on regular wheelbase models. Venture also offers an optional exclusive power sliding side door not offered by Ford and Dodge minivans, that can be opened three ways - by a button on the interior B-pillar, a control on the overhead console or through the Remote Keyless Entry fob. Another Venture exclusive is the "flip-and-fold" design for available split-bench and modular seats, which provides access to extra floor space without having to remove the seats. Built on a magnesium frame, the optional modular seats tip the scale at a lightweight 38 lbs. each, providing convenient, one-person removal and installation, when required.

ENGINE - Buy The Venture Here

And, Venture delivers the power minivan customers said they want, with a standard 3400 V6 SFI engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 205 lb.-ft. of torque, more standard power than Ford Windstar GL or any of the three engines offered by Dodge Caravan.

SPACIOUS - Buy The Venture Here

While Chevy Venture compact exterior dimensions make it more nimble in some situations than either Ford or Dodge minivans, Venture makes optimum use of interior space, offering up to 11.9 more cubic feet of cargo room than Windstar. It also provides the flexibility to carry 4' x 8' sheets of plywood with the liftgate closed in extended wheelbase models, when the rear seats are folded or removed. Customers also have the option of an array of GM Accessories to customize their Venture. A rooftop luggage carrier, splash guards, ski rack and interior or exterior bike racks make adventuring easy. Interior features like a compact disc changer, seat backpack for extra storage, vent visors and electric hot/cold console add an extra measure of convenience.

REPUTATION - Buy The Venture Here

In its first year, Venture caught the attention of the press, receiving several "bests" from the automotive industry, including "Best New Van" (Automotive Journalists Association of Canada); "Best Buy" recommendation (Consumers Digest); "Best in Class" and "Best New Minivan" (Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine); and the 1997 Driver's Choice Award. Designed to provide exceptional ride and handling and a unique lineup of convenience and easy-to-use features, many not offered on any other minivan on the market, there's no doubt that the 1998 Chevy Venture has the potential to become the new benchmark in a competitive arena.
